This is a fairly straightforward piece that if anything has to do with the Unification of the USA. However I disagree with Jamaal on several points. For one he says that it is about a lust for war and not about a desire for peace or a resolution to the conflict. However I believe that it is not a lust for war but in fact an acknowledgment that war is sometimes necessary. If the beating of the drums is read as the speed and intensity of the war then it is easily seen that he wants a war that is fought with passion and one that is over quickly. He does not want a war of attrition that lasts for many years. By saying there should be no peace for various people groups and those opposed to the war shouldn't be listened to he is saying how the war should be run. Everyone should be involved and fighting for the Union with no one sitting on the sidelines, undecided with who they agree with. By listening to doubters and dissenters the war and/or morale could be lost and it is that important that the Union should win.Crazy Twainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07528296545189541931noreply@blogger.com
